Harvest Fun 2019

Our first ever pop-up Harvest Cookery Club on Saturday 5 October was great fun, and the children enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen.  We dived straight in baking Irish Soda bread and it was a real hit – lots of messy but delicious fun.  Decorating biscuits with miniature fondant vegetables required delicate skills and the results were beautiful.  Huge thanks to all the hardworking volunteers who spent Saturday morning doing our own version of Ready, Steady, Cook!

On the Sunday, our All Age Worship bread-making was something of an experiment, but we rose to the challenge magnificently and successfully made a dozen loaves of bread in the time it took the congregation to sing We Plough The Fields And Scatter!  The autumnal festivities were celebrated in style at our Tearaway Tots group with a beautiful tractor collage made by the toddlers to display in church.  The little ones had a wonderful time playing in a sensory area full of straw, as well as singing tractor songs and, of course, Old Macdonald had a Farm!
