Scout Group

14th Brighton Beaver Scout Colony

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family; aged from 5 years 9 months to 8 years. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends and having fun.

Children join a Beaver Scout Colony for many reasons. It might be they have heard great things from their friends about all the things that the 14th Brighton Beaver Scout Colony gets up to every week.  Providing our Beaver Scouts with a Programme that is balanced, exciting and fun is one of the most rewarding challenges for the Colony Leaders.

The Beavers meet at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church during term time from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday evenings.

14th Brighton Cub Pack

Cubs is the second section of the Scouting movement, originally started in 1916 for younger brothers who wanted a 'look-in'.  In nearly a century, the section has constantly evolved and adapted its programme and methods to meet the changing needs of each generation of young people, and these days admits girls as well as boys.

The 14th Brighton is a very active Cub pack, we go camping at least four times a year, and enjoy a huge range of indoor and outdoor activities.  We welcome girls and boys from 7.1/2 to 11 years old.  We welcome cubs from any faith or none and will do our best to accommodate any special needs.

We meet at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church on Thursdays from 6 pm to 7.30 pm during term time.  If you would like to come along and join the fun you are very welcome.
